UDHAMPUR, APRIL 09: - To sensitize and motivate people towards open defecation free environment under Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (SBMG), a Gaurav Yatra   was organized   at Panchayat Malhar  under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, here on Sunday  evening.
During the   yatra, DDC appealed to the people for their active participation in the implementation of SBM. He asked them to get involved in the drive for making the district open defecation free. He added that the task was not just to build toilets, but to bring about behavioral change among the communities to eliminate the practice of open defecation.  He informed that two wards Kangairoo and upper Ritti have been declared as ODF.
Later, DDC distributed felicitation certificates among the volunteers who participated in the awareness programme and administered a swachhta pledge to the participants on the occasion.
 Among others, Assistant Commissioner Development, Angrez Singh, Block Development Officer, Rupali Vaid, other district and sectoral officers of different departments besides fields functionaries, volunteers, and   large number of prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
