Asks Div Com to initiate process
to hand over Zojila pass road maintenance to Project Vijayak
JAMMU, APRIL 13: Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir
Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali has expressed concern over the closure of
Srinagar-Kargil road and took strong note of the alleged delay by the agencies
in restoring the road near Zojila pass.
In this regard Haji Anayat
discussed the matter with Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and implored upon
him to direct the BECON authorities to expedite the work on the restoration of
road so that the stranded passengers can reach their destinations at earliest.
Haji Anayat said the government
will not tolerate callous approach in the deliverance of the duties and urged
the officials to work with dedication to ease the problems of the people. He
said the closure of the road near Zojila has resulted in lot of hardships to
the people of Ladakh region.
The chairman observed that the
Project Vijayak responsible for restoration of road up to Zojilla Pass
accomplishes their job well before the time and asked the Divisional
Commissioner Kashmir to initiate the process of handing over the maintenance of
Zojilla Pass to Project Vijayak so that the people of Ladakh region do not
suffer.
