SAMBA, APRIL 06: Legal Metrology department fined a stationery shop
for selling uniforms to the consumers/students without mandatory declarations
in total violation of the provisions of the law in place for the purpose, here
today.
According to Assistant Controller Legal Metrology,
Rajesh Heera, all the goods which are being packed in the absence of consumers
must declare net content, MRP along with packing date, address of the
packer/importer and customer care number.
It was further given out that several packages
without mandatory declarations, were seized by Inspector
Mohsin Khateeb and a fine of Rs.10000/- was imposed on the defaulter.
Assistant Controller also appealed people to
approach the department for immediate redressal of grievances related to unfair
trade practices.
