UDHAMPUR,
MAY 02 : A day long Kissan Kalyan Karyashalla was organized by the
Department of Agriculture under “Gram Swaraj Abhiyan” on the theme
Doubling farmers income (DFI) by 2022 was held here today.
Member
Legislative Assembly, Pawan Kumar Gupta, was the chief guest while District
Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar was the guest of honour on the
occasion.
While interacting
with the progressive farmers, the MLA asked them to focus on increasing
their income through adoption of new technologies in the field of
agriculture. He said that all-round development of agriculture
sector is needed to enhance farmers' income which is the ultimate aim of the
government. He said that the main aim of organizing this Karyashalla is to
create awareness among the farmers community about the schemes of the
government for their development. He further said that the seven-point'
strategy pursued by the Government of India includes an emphasis on
irrigation along with end to end solution on creation of resources for 'more
crop per drop', provision of quality seeds and nutrients.
While interacting
with the farmers, DDC exhorted upon the farmers to utilize their resources in
an effective way to get maximum benefits.
Later, DDC
distributed felicitation certificates among the best and progressive farmers.
Among others, Sub Divisional Magistrate Dudu, Abdul Sattar, Chief
Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Agriculture Officer, Sunil Kumar, Chief
Horticulture Officer, Brij Vallabh Gupta, AD Planning, Darshan Kumar, and other
District Officers of concerned departments besides large number of farmers were
present on the occasion.
