SRINAGAR,
MAY 14: Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development,
Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today laid the
foundation stone of two-foot bridges in the Hazratbal constituency.
The
footbridges will be constructed at Shanapora over Tailbal Nallah, at an
estimated cost of Rs 5.5 crore.
Addressing
the gathering, the Minister said that once completed the bridges will increase
the connectivity in the area, adding they will provide an easy passage for the
residents of Shanpora, Mulfaq and other encompassing villages in order to reach
main Shalla-Naseem road.
She
also said that in the future more such bridges will be constructed in Hazratbal
constituency to improve the connectivity.
The
Minister also conducted an extensive tour of Hazratbal constituency and
reviewed the progress of the ongoing beautification project of the Hazratbal
shrine. She asked the concerned to expedite work on Rs 45crore
beautification project so that it gets completed within the stipulated period
of time.
Asiea also took
the stock of sanitation block and parking lot which is to be constructed in the
area.
The Minister also
met various delegations and gave them a patient hearing. She told them that all
their grievances would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
The Minister was
accompanied by Hashmat Qazi, Superintending Engineer, Power Development
Department, Assistant Director Tourism, MD JKPCC, GM Housing and Sameer,
INTACH.
