KARGIL, MAY 02: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC) Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan urged
upon students to come forward and take full benefit of the Prime Minister’s
Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS).
The
CEC stated this while addressing students at an awareness programme on Prime
Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) organized by the Department of
Higher Education and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in
collaboration with Government Degree College Kargil at Auditorium Hall Kargil
here today.
On the
occasion resource persons including Director AICTE New Delhi Dr. Manpreet
Singh, Member National Monitoring Committee for Minorities Education MHRD Irfan
Ali Peerzada and State Nodal Officer PMSSS Ajit Angral enlightened the students
about various aspects of PMSSS and career prospects associated with the scheme.
The
speakers explained how students can register online and get their documents
verified and what precautionary measures have to be taken during registration,
verification and counselling.
The CEC
while hailing the initiative of Government Degree College Kargil for conducting
the awareness session to disseminate information amongst the students expressed
hope that it would play a pivotal role in enabling students to nourish their
dreams to rise high and build a good future.
He also
expressed thankfulness to the resource persons to have come to the district to
sensitize and encourage the students through the awareness programme.
Meanwhile,
Chairperson Foundation for Holistic Development Madhuri Sahasbudhe delivered a
motivational lecture while as Advisor Gujarat Technological University Prof N.K
Goel, In Charge Principal Government Degree College Kargil Nassir Hussain
Shabani and Coordinator PMSSS Kargil Dr Javed Naqi also spoke on the occasion.
Chief
Education Officer Kargil Muhammad Mussa, Assistant Professors
from Government Degree College Kargil, Principals of various Higher
Secondary Schools, college staff and around 400 students attended the
awareness programme.
Pertinently
under PMSSS students of the state are offered scholarships for pursuing
undergraduate courses in Medical, Engineering and general streams outside the
state for which amount of scholarship is paid by the AICTE.
Students who are the domicile residents of Jammu & Kashmir and have
passed 10+2 examination from J&K Board or CBSE located in
J&K and willing to study outside the State, having the family income of Rs.
six lakh or below per annum are eligible to avail benefit under the scheme.
