Scheme would
benefit 29% of State population: DevinderManyal
SHIMLA, MAY 14:
Government today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with National
Health Agency (NHA), Government of India regarding national health scheme
“Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Mission (PMRSSM)” at
Peterhoff, Shimla.
The MoU was
signed by Chief Executive Officer of National Health Agency, GoI and Principal
Secretary Health and Medical Education, J&K.
Speaking on the
occasion, Minister for Health and Medical Education Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal,
expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health
Minister J P Nadda for bringing out PMRSSM scheme, saying it would benefit
marginalized section of the society.
The Minister
further elaborated that about 6.13 lakh families would be benefited by the
scheme which comprises about 29 percent population of the State.
Earlier, Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) conducted Northern Region Workshop for
signing the MoU between the NHA and State Governments of six northern States,
including Jammu and Kashmir, on Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya
Swasthya Suraksha Mission (PMRSSM).
The workshop was
chaired by Union Health Minister JP Nadda, and from J&K, it was attended by
DevinderManyal, Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education Dr. Pawan
Kotwal, Director Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization (State Nodal Officer
PMRSSM) Dr. Samir Mattoo.
