JAMMU, MAY 16: Deputy Chief
Minister Kavinder Gupta today said that schools are revered as a sacred place
in the society in view of their role in shaping the future of the nation and it
must be our prime concern to impart quality education to students besides
promoting ethical values among them.
The Deputy Chief
Minister was speaking during a function organized by a private school here at
Sainik Colony.
Addressing the
gathering, Kavinder Gupta said that the educational institutions across the
state are doing a commendable job in spreading light of education and preparing
students to become leaders of tomorrow.
He further said
that it is important to inculcate values, ethics and responsibility towards
community among the younger generation. He exhorted upon the school management
to make sure that the institution serves as a vibrant centre of excellence.
He lauded the
role of private sector in the field of education and acknowledges their
contribution in improving literacy rate in the state.
He stated that
role of teacher and parent is vital for shaping the personality of the student.
Kavinder Gupta
also stressed on promotion of regional language and called for collective
effort to promote the Dogri language on world stage.
Deputy
Chief Minister congratulated school administration for creating wonderful
environment of education for the students. Meanwhile, the students presented a
colourful cultural programme on the occasion.
Later, the Deputy
Chief Minister along with other dignitaries distributed TABs among the students
as per standard of curriculum of International Schooling.
Among others,
representatives from British International Academy Kenneth LoroneziFriis and
John Hart, Coordinator General Sanjana Katoch, Chairperson Geeta Sharma,
Academic coordinator Pratibha Sopori besides parents and students attended
the function.
