Hassan, May 21: Chief Minister designate chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday sought the cooperation from every one, including his coalition partner Congress party to ensure that he provide five years of stable government in the state.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines of his visit to the Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Holenarsipura in the district along with his brother H D Revanna, he said that it was big challenge to holding chief minister post this time and he has been closely watching the ‘developments’ in other parties.
His comments comes in the wake of reports that Congress may insist on getting a lion’s share in the Kumaraswamy cabinet besides JD(S) an Congress share the Chief Minister post for 30 months each.
Mr Kumaraswamy said that he was not accepted this challenge not for a temporary period and wanted to give good governance to the people of the state who have been with big aspirations on him. He also already understood the problems of the people particularly farmers. However, he assured to provide a ‘better’ government and ensure peoples’ welfare this time.
Referring to the statements of the BJP leaders B Sriramlu and K S Eshwarappa strong opposition BJP will give him sleepless nights, he rebuked it and said that nobody could give him sleepless night him at the same time they should ensure that they have sound night’s sleep themselves.
He also offered pooja to his family goddess and at Eshwara temple at his home village Haradanahalli and Bettada Rangaswamy temple.
The JD(S) leader will meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and her son and Congress President Rahul Gandhi in Delhi later today to discuss the modalities of government formation and invite them for the swearing in ceremony on May 23. UNI
