Bengaluru, May 14 : The Indian Navy has organised an interaction with the private industries in the city from May 15 to 18 to discuss indigenization of components used in the Navy.
Rear Admiral V M Doss, Assistant Chief of Naval staff (Air material) of Integrated headquarters, Ministry of Defence will preside the meeting.
The meet is focused on side lines of Indian Naval Aviation road map prepared for next five years to indigenize 500 components (critical / non critical). The aim of the event is to involve private industry in Defence production with the "Make in India" initiative of government.
Now under governments this initiative the Defence forces have eased procedures for the Indian industries to supply their products. Approximately 300 private industries are expected to attend the interactive session. The industrial institute, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Peenya Industrial Association will also be participating in the event, a defence press release said here on Monday.UNI
