Bengaluru, May 14 :  Re-polling at the three polling booths of Karnataka which was ordered by the Election Commission due to technical glitches ended on Monday on a peaceful note.
Re-polling was held in two booths in Kushtagi constituency of Koppal Taluk in Raichur district and in one booth in Hebbal constitutency in Bengaluru. The repoll that began at 0700 hours and ended at 1800 hours.
According to State Chief Electoral Officer Sanjiv kumar re-polling has been necessitated due to mal-functioning in EVMs.
In Hebbal, some dramatic scenes were witnessed when BJP candidate Narayanaswamy visited the booth repeatedly and he was warned by the booth officials not to enter the booth on the third time. This was the scene witnessed at station No. 2 located at Gandhi Vidyalaya, Kannada and Tamil Primary School of Lottegollahalli.
The counting of votes polled on May 12 and today will be held at 36 counting centers in the State will be taken up tomorrow.
Polling was held for 222 constituencies while in two others in the 224-member Legislative Assembly were put off. While polling in Rajarajeshwari Nagar was countermanded due to large scale electoral malpractices, in Jayanagara as deferred following death of sitting MLA and BJP candidate B N Vijayakumar. Both these constituencies are in Bengaluru city.
