Seeks uninterrupted power supply for consumers
JAMMU, MAY 17: Minister for Power, Sunil Kumar Sharma today
inaugurated a new 50 MVA transformer installed to upgrade the existing Grid
Station here at Canal Road.
The Minister was informed that the upgrading of the
grid station will benefit residents of Canal Road, Talab Tillo, Jewel, Bakshi
Nagar, Chatha, Satwari, Shakti Nagar, Resham Ghar and adjoining areas. The new
50 MVA transformer installed at
the grid station at the cost of Rs 3.49 crore.
Speaking on the occasion, the Power Minister
stressed on well-prepared plans to execute the developmental projects
effectively. He asked the PDD engineers to join their hands for creating a
dependable transmission and distribution network to supply quality and round
the clock power to the consumers.
The Minister said that augmentation of new
transformers was necessitated to meet up applied and future demand of domestic
consumers of the area. He said that many more projects for development of power
infrastructure have been approved to provide adequate supply to the locals.
Appreciating the efforts of the department, the
Minister said there was a lot more to do to provide better services to the
people. However, he cautioned the department against unscheduled power cuts and power pilferage.
The Minister said that the State is going through a
positive transitional phase and more efficient services are need to be ensured
for the welfare of the people.
Chief Engineer Avinash Kumar Dubey, SE Gurmeet
Singh, SE Sudhir Gupta, Xen Satpal and senior functionaries of PDD were also
present on the occasion.
