SRINAGAR, JUNE 01: Minister of State
for Health and Medical Education, Asiea Naqash today held a meeting to discuss
the issues related to hospitals and health centres in Srinagar.
Principal Secretary
Health and Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Principal Government Medical
College, Dr Samia Rashid, Director General Health Services, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman
and Medical Superintendents of the Associated Hospitals attended the meeting.
The meeting had a
discussion on the expansion of G.B Pant Hospital to tackle the huge patients
rush and construction of new Bone and Joint Hospital.
There was a
threadbare discussion on the relocation of Chest Disease Hospital. She asked
the officials to submit the DPR of the work to be taken up at this hospital.
Naqash urged the
officials to increase the manpower in Primary Health Centres of Hazratbal
constituency for providing hassle-free facilities to the
patients. She also asked the officials to make arrangements in these
health centres on the pattern of medical colleges to engage people.
The Minister also asked the officials to expedite the internal work in
the MMC (Mini Maternal Centre) Zakura, besides directing the officials to
create a sub-centre at Dukpora, Anchar due to its lack of basic healthcare
facilities.
