Jammu, July 04: Former
Minister, Sat Sharma and local MLA from the Jammu West, Constituency
distributed Gas Connections to the dozens of women folk under the Pradhan
Mantri Ujjawala Yojana.
Former Minister was also
accompanied by District President Jammu West Ayodhya Gupta, State Press
Secretary Dr. Pardeep Mahotra and other local social and political activists
during the gas distribution function. In a function, held at Gurudwara Taali
Sahib, Talab Tillo,
Sat Sharma while
addressing the beneficiaries said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has
initiated numerous schemes for the benefit of the common masses keeping in view
the persons who have been left out of the touch of basic amenities of life. He
said that the inefficient policies and political will shown by earlier
governments led to the development of wide gap between the rich and the poor
and they kept large chunk of population under-privileged for their own selfish
mottos.
Sharma also emphasized
that the women form 50 percent of the total population and no society can think
of surviving and advancing without ensuring women upliftment. He said that
still after so many decades of the Indian Independence from the British, we
have witnessed our women folk in many areas using the wood to fire the old time
“Chulha”. He added that this adversely affects the health of women folk which
forces them to inhale unlimited smoke.
Sat Sharma while giving
details of the today’s programme, said that more than 3o families got the
benefit of the free gas connections under the scheme. He said that 5 lakh,
twenty nine thousands and three hundred women beneficiaries have been
benefitted under present Ujjawala schemes in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that now the limit of giving benefit to the needy families has been
increased for meeting out the demand of every household with a vision to
replace every single wooden chulha with the LPG gas stove.
Sharma said that BJP is
working with a pious mission of giving life filled with dignity to each and
every individual irrespective of caste, region, religion or gender and BJP will
ensure this. He also prompted the local political and social activists to
ensure the implementation of all Centre and State sponsored government schemes
at the ground level by working extra hours.
