Jammu, Aug 30: Many delegations from different areas of Gandhi Nagar constituency, called on Former Deputy Chief Minister, and MLA Gandhi Nagar at his residence here today.
The delegations discussed their problems of water logging, frequent power cuts, water supply problem in addition to damages caused by Heavy rains to Roads, lanes, drains and private properties, in Trikuta Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Marble Market area and Greater Kailash. Mr. Gupta while interacting with them said that the he he had already discussed the matter with the concerned authorities for the early redressal of the problems being faced by the people within the shortest possible time.
Gupta lambasted previous congress regime for the works done at many Deep drains without any quality Check in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He said in some parts of the constituency, the works were sanctioned worth several crores but on ground the funds were not utilized properly. The Corrupt practices adopted during the congress regime have lead to the Chaos, the public is facing today. The malpractices adopted by them have lead to the loss of several crores to the state exchequer. Had the works been done with the focus on quality instead of personal interests, the situation would have been different today. During previous regimes their focus was only to earn money and garner votes by befooling the public. He further said that today any one can come to with the complaints where they observe the lesser quality of the works being executed. He said that soon a project DPR shall be ready for all the deep drains. The DPR shall be made in such way that is technically and economically feasible.
Gupta said that the Modi government at centre is committed for undertaking equitable development of all the three regions of the State so that it comes up as one of the model states of the country. He said Jammu City has been included in the list of “smart city” by the centre Govt. The Release of funds have been started and we have to do a lot of works, so that no one is deprived of the basic amenities.
The members of the delegations appreciated the approach of Kavinder Gupta and thanked him for the quality works done in the last three years in Gandhi Nagar. Prominent among those who met Gupta where Ved Raj Sharma, Ramesh Choudhary and  Swaran Singh Chib President, Shiva Colony Welfare Committee.
