Jammu, Sept 28: Amidst
the extensive workout for Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in the State,
Bharatiya Janata Party, Jammu & Kashmir also sweats out on the issue of
next phase, wherein the state will witness Panchayat elections in a meeting
conducted at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
The meeting was
chaired by BJP State President Ravinder Raina (MLA) which was also duly
addressed by MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma and State General Secretary
(Org.) Ashok Kaul.
The meeting was
attended by the senior leaders from the constituencies having Panchayats and
saw the threadbare discussions on all the issues related to the Panchayat Polls
in the region.
Ravinder Raina,
while addressing the meeting, focused that the state has now entered the phase
of continuous elections which will continue for a long period now from now on.
He said that although the process is energy consuming but the BJP worker is too
enthusiastic for the whole set of election phases. He said that it is only due
to the dedicated efforts of the Central and State BJP leadership that has
pressed hard for these elections to strengthen the lowest level of democracy.
He asked them to work hard to achieve the BJP’s target of “Panchayat to
Parliament”.
Jugal Kishore
Sharma, in his address, stressed that although the Panchayat elections are to
be contested on non-party basis, but still the party leaders have a great
responsibility to choose and support the right candidate with party ideology.
He asked them to seek the ground reports from all the Panchayats to form an
effective strategy well before the time.
Ashok Kaul, in his address, sought the information
about various regions going into the Panchayat elections. He discussed all the
issues threadbare with the participants of the meeting and sought their
feedback on them. He asked them to revisit their already existing strategy and
discuss it within the party fold. He also assured them of all organizational
support while their areas will be going through Poll Phase.
