JAMMU, SEPTEMBER
5: Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) Jammu Kashmir,
Suresh Chugh today took stock of the working of the forest department in Jammu
region in a meeting held at Forest Headquarter Jammu.

forest Jammu Sameer Bharti, Conservator of Forest East circle Mohandas,
Conservator of Forest West circle Dr Jitender, Conservator of Forest
Chenab Circle T.B Singh and all the DFOs of Jammu region participated in the
meeting.
During the
meeting, up-to-date division wise progress in respect of CAPEX and District,
FDA, Forest protection works and FCA cases were reviewed and directions were
issued to expedite the pending works at the earliest. The PCCF reiterated that
progress in respect of Financial and physical target should be achieved without
any delay.
Speaking on the
occasion Chugh said that protection of forest and its conservation and
management through afforestation would be departments priority. Climate
change is a big challenge that the state of Jammu Kashmir is facing and
mitigating the effect of climate change is another area where the efforts are
required, he added. He said that the removal of encroachment and
reduction in forest damage are other areas which would be addressed in time
bound manner. He asked all the officers to work with full dedication
and zeal and any laxity on any part would be dealt with strictly, he
emphasized.
He said that
Forest Department is a 200-year-old department and has a Legacy of disciplined
working for management of forests on scientific lines and that legacy and
discipline has to be maintained in our working.
