developmental works, calls for meeting deadlines
KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER
09: Commissioner Secretary R&B Khursheed Ahmad Shah along with
DDC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today conducted an extensive tour of district
Kupwara during which he inspected various developmental projects including
roads, degree colleges, hospitals, and other works.
Chief Engineer
R&B, Chief Engineer PMGSY, Executive Engineers of R&B and JKPCC and
other concerned accompanied the Commissioner Secretary.
Commissioner
Secretary inspected the new Women's College at Salkoot Kupwara coming up at an
estimated cost of Rs 10.53 Cr. He directed the concerned agency to speed up the
pace on remaining work and ensure completion of the College within the
stipulated timeline. He also issued directions for the construction of a
boundary wall of the college immediately.
While inspecting
Khumriyal Bridge, the commissioner Secretary impressed upon the engineers to
expedite ongoing work on the bridge and ensure completion of the bridge by
November this year. The Commissioner Secretary asked the DDC to make frequent
inspections of the project to ensure its completion at the earliest.
The Commissioner
Secretary also inspected Shumriyal bridge and directed the concerned to widen
the passing plate of the road across the bride, so that heavy vehicles can also
ply easily. He stressed for timely completion of the bridge to facilitate the
smooth flow of vehicles and commuters.
The Commissioner
Secretary visited Government Degree College Sogam and inspected various
blocks/sections including Science Laboratory, Geology Lab/Chemistry Lab and
Library. He also interacted with the concerned Principal and other staff
members.
During the
inspection, he enjoined upon the concerned engineers to give a finishing touch
to pending works in various sections of the college. He also directed for
construction of ramps and ensure construction of toilets in the college.
The Commissioner
Secretary also inspected SDH Sogam and Gungbug-Anderbug Chandigam road
constructed under PMGSY and reviewed the overall progress. He directed the
concerned agencies to complete the remaining works at an earliest.
Later, Khursheed
Ahmad Shah chaired a meeting of officers in the Meeting Hall of DC Office
Complex wherein strict instruction towards meeting deadlines were issued. He
impressed upon concerned executing agencies to ensure coordination for
expeditious and timely outcomes.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning
Kupwara, Imtiyaz Ahmad and concerned district and sectoral officers.
