KARGIL, SEPTEMBER 7: Deputy Commissioner
and Chief Executive Officer (LAHDC) Kargil, Vikas Kundal convened a meeting of
officer here today to review the arrangements put in place for the conduct of
Muharram congregations.
During the meeting, issues pertaining to the firewood supply and
distribution of ration, availability and deployment of doctors, paramedics and
ambulances, medical facilities, uninterrupted power and water supply,
sanitation of roads were discussed.
Threadbare discussions were also held on security, traffic management
besides other necessary arrangements.
The DC directed the official to make sure that the arrangements
pertaining to their Departments are put in place well before the
Muharram-ul-Haram. He stressed for the availability of proper transport
facility at various locations in the district to ferry the Muharram mourners
till late hours.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Chief Medical Officer, Kargil to set
up medical camps at Hussaini Park, Taxi Stand, Islamia School and
InquilabManzil besides special ward in District Hospital Kargil during the
Muharram days. He also asked them to kept blood banks readily available.
The DC directed the Municipal Committee Officers to ensure cleanliness
around the Imambaras and Mosques where from processions come out during the
Muharram days. He also asked them to establish temporary toilet units near the
premises of Fatima Chowk.
Representatives of Islamia School Kargil (ISK) and Imam Khomeini
Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil gave their valuable suggestions for further
improvements in the arrangements made by the district administration.
Taking the stock of the arrangements for providing of furnishing items
and pipes, it was informed that 25 Tarpals are required to meet out the
functions. The Deputy Commissioner asked the Agriculture and Food Civil
Supplies and Consumer Affairs to arrange 10 and 15 Tarpals respectively and
issue to Islamia School Kargil. He also asked to PHE Department to
furnish pipes to the ISK and IKMT as per their demand.
DC asked the district administration officers to work with utmost
dedication and in tandem. He also asked the Volunteers to maintain discipline
during the processions.
Among others, Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar, Assistant
Commissioner Revenue, Sonam Chasjore, Chief Medical Officer, Kargil Ibrahim
Khan, Executive Engineer, R&B, Abdul Mutalib, Executive Officer, Municipal
Committee, Kargil, Abdul Gaffar Zargar, Assistant Director Information, Abdul
Ahad Bhat, Assistant Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Haji
Nisar, representatives from Islamia School and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust
(IKMT) Kargil including Haji Hassan Lal, Mohammad Baqir, Mohammad Abdullah, Ali
Naqi and other concerned officers of Agriculture, PHE, PDD and Bharat Sanchar
Nigam Limited were present in the meeting.
