Anwar Masoodis ton guides Victoria Kupwara to victory
SRINAGAR, JULY 29: After having a rest day on Friday, State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship returned to action Saturday with as many as ten matches played across five districts of Kashmir.
In Central Kashmir Ganderbal district, Valley Hunks beat Vadiye Kashmir comprehensively by 73 runs. Batting first Hunks made a mammoth 213 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply Vadiye Kashmir managed only 140.
Owais walked away with man of the match award for his all round show taking four wickets and scoring 26 runs.
Mohammad Ariz took five wickets as Kamran Lions beat YS Chattapora by six wickets. Batting first Chattapora made 164 which were chased down by Kamran Lions easily losing just four wickets.
Ariz was unsurprisingly given man of the match award.
The district Shopian fixture saw Shama Cricket Club beat Paradise Cricket Club in a lopsided affair. Batting first Paradise were shot out for a nothing 106 and it took SCC just 12.3 to overhaul the target.
North Kashmir's Baramulla fixture involved Downtown XI and Wullar XI which was won by the former by five runs.
Batting first, Downtown XI made 125 and followed up with a terrific bowling show to restrict Wullar XI to 120 to make it to another round.

Kupwaras first fixture of the day involved Jamia Sports and Victoria Kupwara which was won by Victoria Kupwara. Anwar Masoodis blistering 107 ensured Victoria Kupwara chased down the target 0f 181 set by Jamia Sports in just 17.3 overs. Anwar was declared man of the match.

160 teams from Kashmir, 164 from Jammu to participate in tourney
SRINAGAR, JUNE 22: The State Cricket Academy is all set to organize a mega cricketing event from next month, in which 160 teams from the Kashmir province and 164 teams from the Jammu province are will be participating to fight it out for the title.
          The event would be held in two phases for which the registration process has already started two months ago.
It will be first major cricket event to be held in Jammu and Kashmir on this scale this season. The top cricketers from all over State would be taking part in the event, Director State Cricket Academy Mubashir Hassan said.
The second edition will also witness teams from Ladakh, the players for which were selected during recently Ladakh Students Tournament held in Srinagar.
"It is our ambitious project of unearthing the hidden talent in our State. The matches would be held in all the major district venues across the State, the Director SCA said.
He said that to make the event more attractive, bumper cash prizes of Rs 25 lakh will be awarded to the top performers which will eventually help in giving a boost to the sports activities in the State.

He said the event will also provide an opportunity to find the young talent which can be groomed so that they can feature in national events to mark their name for themselves and for the State.

NEW DELHI, JUNE 16: The budding cricketers from J&K will get a rare opportunity to interact with cricketing legend from Australia, Adam Gilchrist here on 19 June. The interaction is being coordinated by Advisor to Chief Minister, Prof Amitabh Mattoo.
Besides, a T-20 cricket match is also being played between J&K CMs Eleven and G M College Delhi in the Australian Embassy Ground here on 19 June which would be followed by interaction with Gilchrist in the Conference Hall of Delhi University.

J&K State Sports Council officials will be also present on the occasion.
