Jammu, Sept 21: A Joint Press Conference of Social Organizations of J&K State comprising of  Sh. V.P. Sharma ,President Brahman Sabha J&K, Sh. Zorawar Singh Chairman Team Jammu, Sh.Romesh Mahajan President Mahajan Sabha J&K, Sh.Bodh Raj Vice President Bhagat Sabha J&K, Sh.Neeraj Anand President Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu, Sh.M.S.Katoch, Working President JPPF Jammu, Sh.Abhinav Sharma Former President Bar Association Jammu, Sh. B S Slathia, President J&K Bar Association Jammu and Kr. Narayan Singh President Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha J&K. was held on 21/09/2018 at Press Club Jammu with regards to the Celebration of 124th Birth Anniversary of Late Maharaja Bahadur, Shri Hari Singh Ji on 23rd of September 2018 and to mobilize the J&K State Government to declare Gazetted Holiday on Birth Anniversary of Maharaja which falls on 23rd of September each year.
All the Prominent heads of Social organizations in the Press Conference appealed the Jammuities to participate in the function of Celebrations of Maharaja on 23/09/2018 at 4:00 pm at Maharaja Hari Singh Ji Park at Jammu opposite Fortune Hotel, near Bank of Tawi River Jammu to pay respectful homage to the Maharaja of J&K State. The Maharaja of the State deserved to be honoured for the deeds he had introduced for the welfare of the people of the State.
The Joint press conference of Social Organizations of the State had all praise for the Maharaja Hari Singh Ji who had signed the Historical Instrument of Accession with Government of India, that is why, the inhabitants of the State still commemorate the Maharaja for his bold decision. The members of the Joint Press Conference further appealed to His Excellency the Governor of J&K State to kindly consider the genuine long pending demand of J&K State and declare Gazetted Holiday on Birth Anniversary of Late Maharaja Hari Singh Ji at the earlier. 

JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 23: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, in presence of Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta today paid tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on his 123rd birthday at a function here.
Minister of State for Tourism Priya Sethi, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Kissans Daljit Singh Chib, Chairperson, State Social Welfare Board (JKSSWB), Nirmal Gupta, Legislators, Devender Singh Rana, Ajatshatru Singh, Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Vikram Randhawa and Rajesh Guptaand representatives of various political, social and religious organizations also paid homage to Late Maharaja Hari Singh.
          Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh lauded the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh towards welfare and development of J&K State. He said the Maharaja carried out development policies and reforms for amelioration of deprived segments of the society and It was because of his statesmanship that today we are part of a great nation, he added.
          Highlighting the works performed and schemes implemented by Maharaja Hari Singh during his regime, the Speaker said that his contribution in socio-political and socio-economic reforms in the State for bringing the Jammu and Kashmir at par with other progressive states is highly laudable. He also lauded Maharaja for doing away with many social evils for the welfare of the public.

Speaking on the occasion, Priya Sethi remembered the selfless services rendered by Maharaja Hari Singh for betterment of the State. She said that Maharaja was a social reformer, a true patriot and a great visionary who worked for women education, banning of child marriage, abolishing of un-touchability, free education for all, promotion of widows marriage besides uplift of weaker sections of the society.
