Secy Social Welfare for expediting authentication process across JK
SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 09: The Social Welfare Department has weeded out 8449 ineligible persons in Kashmir division from the list of beneficiaries who are getting pension under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS).
This information was given at a meeting chaired by Secretary Social Welfare, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone today to review the progress of weeding out ineligible and underserving persons from the list of beneficiaries covered under NSAP and ISSS.
The meeting was informed that the weeded out undeserving beneficiaries include 1047 in Anantnag, 900 in Budgam, 278 in Baramulla, 363 in Ganderbal, 523 in Kargil, 370 in Kulgam, 301 in Kupwara, 110 in Leh, 994 in Pulwama, 650 in Shopian and 2777 in Srinagar.
Pertinently, a monthly pension of Rs 1000 is provided to the poor elderly persons, widows, women in distress and physically challenged persons under these schemes. In J&K 573383 beneficiaries are presently receiving pension under these social security schemes including 1540883 under NSAP and 422500 under ISSS amounting to Rs 686.36 crore per annum.   
The Secretary emphasized that the process of verification must be expedited across the state so that all ineligible beneficiaries are weeded out by 30 September 2018.
He directed the District Social Welfare Officers to replace the weeded-out cases by eligible and deserving applicants from the pending list in their respective districts as per the guidelines of the scheme.
Dr Lone further emphasized that utmost transparency must be ensured and duplicates, if any, removed immediately. It was given out that the process of Aadhaar seeding of the beneficiaries has been started and so far, out of 71699 beneficiaries enrolled under NSAP in Kashmir division, Aadhaar numbers of 32949 have been seeded so far.
Secretary further emphasized that all the beneficiaries must be Aadhaar seeded to rule out any fake and duplicate beneficiaries so that the deserving get benefitted from the scheme.  
Dr Lone further informed that the Government is working towards covering all the eligible beneficiaries under the social security schemes for which it is imperative that ineligible and the duplicate beneficiaries are weeded out to work out the exact pendency of eligible persons.

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 01: Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Mohammad Qasim Wani convened a meeting to review Social Welfare schemes here today.
The Director stressed upon the officers of the department to identify the deserving beneficiaries while surveying so that the benefit goes to the most deserving. He instructed the officers to do the baseline survey and employ the latest techniques so that the pace of survey is accelerated.
District Social Welfare Officer, Anantnag Dr. Peerzada Farhat detailed about the achievements of the department under various welfare schemes.  
The meeting was informed that under Integrated Social Security Scheme (ISSS) 27813 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 27245 achieved, while as under National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) 9229 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 8870 achieved so far. Similarly, under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS) Rs. 48.375 lacs, Rs.78.40 lacs, Rs.46.80 lacs & Rs.65.60 lacs have been received under Phase-I, II, III & IV respectively, while as under the Contributed Security Scheme (CSS), 450 beneficiaries have been sanctioned and 378 achieved so far.
Likewise, other schemes of the department were also reviewed and the chair was informed that all such schemes are at different stages of execution.


Jammu, Feb 5: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Social Welfare, Sajjad Ahmad Lone on Monday said that a proposal to clear 40000 pending Old Age Pension and Destitute Pension cases have been submitted to the Finance department for clearance in the first instance.
Replying to the question of legislator, Mohammad Shafi, the Minister informed the House that the proposal is under the consideration of the Department. He further informed that there are 16665 ISSS/NSAP pension cases pending with the department in Uri Constituency.
