SRINAGAR, JUNE 01: A team of Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) headed
by ARTO Srinagar today carried out raids at Batmaloo, Bemina Crossing,
Moominabad, and Tengapora Byepass to check illegal entries of Maxi cabs
into the erstwhile bus stand Batmaloo.
The drive
was carried out on the directions of
Transport Commissioner Saugat Biswas and was held under the close supervision
of RTO Kashmir.
During the drive, 12 vehicles were found
illegally entering into erstwhile bus stand Batmaloo and in compliance to
directions of the High Court.
The
permits of these vehicles have been suspended for a period of one month.
JAMMU, MAY 31: Deputy Chief
Minister, Kavinder Gupta today paid surprise visit to the office of Regional
Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir at Bemina here and took stock of its
functioning.
The Deputy
Chief Minister inspected various sections of the organization including
Computer Lab and witnessed the process of on-line issuance of Licenses,
Registration of vehicles and other allied activities being carried out there.
He also interacted with the visitors and enquired about the functioning and
facilities available there. He also sought their views to further improve the
system.
He issued
on-the-spot instructions to the RTO, Khursheed Ahmad Shah to take immediate
measures for further streamlining the functioning of this vital organization
and try to reduce the duration for issuance of licenses and registrations of
vehicles. He also directed for making best use of digital technology to ensure
complete transparency in the system and expeditious disposal of issues.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed the concerned to put in place
all basic facilities like drinking water, toilets and appropriate sitting arrangements
for the visitors. He called upon the employees to work with utmost zeal and
dedication and come up to the expectations of the general masses, which is the
ultimate objective of the Government.
SRINAGAR, APRIL 24: As
part of the ongoing 29th Road Safety Week, Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir
Khurshid Ahmad Shah today flagged-off auto-rickshaw rally here.
The rally commenced from SRTC
Bemina and culminated at Panthachowk in which 60 auto-rickshaws participated.
