Eight Tripura students hospitalised after punishment in school

Udaipur, Aug 31: At least eight girl students fell ill and hospitalized as Headmaster Shilghati High School ordered them to stand at sunlight till afternoon at Udaipur of south Tripura yesterday for allegedly creating nuisance in the campus. The parents of the victim alleged that the teacher Mohit lal Jamatia mercilessly tortured them before kept them under sunlight. However, police registered a case against the school authority but no arrest yet. The victims student are Fatema Begam (14), Puja Das (14), Anamika Jamatia (14), Nisha Jamatia (13), Ramika Jamatia (15), Bimal Das (14), Puja Debbarma (14) were kept in the hospital under observation.
