Tripura BSF to remember martyrs on Oct 22

Agartala, Sep 14: The BSF Tripura Frontier has organised a Half Marathon - Run for the Martyrs on October 22 next in the morning for four hours at Agartala commemorate the sacrifices the heroes who martyred for the Nation. BSF will be organising the events with the local public, athletes, members of clubs, sports organisations, students of schools, colleges, members of Police forces and other security agencies. This event would have two categories; one is half-marathon of 21 kms run for men and women above 18 years of age and the second is 5 kms run for men and women above 14 years of age. On successful completion of run, first, second and third position of both categories (men and women) will be awarded prizes with the provision for some consolation prizes. The runs will be flagged off from Swami Vivekanand Maidan, Agartala and will finish at same place after covering a distance of 21 kms and 5 kms respectively and all persons (men and women) who are medically fit to run the respective distance are welcome to participate in the event. BSF will also felicitate the family members of some martyrs from Tripura State and similarly eminent personalities of any other field including sports will also be honoured on the occasion, a release said.
