Srinagar,
Nov 18: All educational institutions remained closed as a precautionary
measure on Saturday in Srinagar district, where a militant and a Sub Inspector
(SI) of state police were killed in a brief encounter on the city outskirts
yesterday.
However, all board and university examinations would be held as per
schedule today. District
Magistrate (DM), Srinagar, has ordered closure of all educational institutions
in the district as a precautionary measure. However, Minister for Education Syed Altaf Bukhari
said that 10th class State Board of School Education (BOSE) examination will be
held as per schedule today. He further said that roll number slips of
candidates appearing in the examination will be treated as “Curfew Passes” as
DM has imposed restrictions in areas falling under six police stations in the
down town, Shehar-e-Khas (SeK) and two police stations in old city and civil
lines. Meanwhile, the Kashmir
University(KU) has suspended all class work today. However, all university
examinations will be held as per schedule. The Cluster University (CU) has also announced to
conduct all examinations as per schedule. A SI of state police Imran Tak and a militant Mugees
Ahmad Mir, a resident of Primpora in the down town were killed in a brief
encounter in Zakoora area of outskirts yesterday. A SPO was also injured in the
encounter while one suspected militant was arrested from the spot. Mir was
