JAMMU, JANUARY 23: Minster
for Revenue Abdul Rehman Veeri today informed the House that the land under
occupation of inhabitants of Bamyari and Nowgam area of Sonawari belongs to
Rakhs and Farms Wing of Agriculture Production Department and Abadi Deh area
respectively. He said the said land doesn’t qualify for being considered under
Big Landed Estates Abolition Act Svt 2007 (1950 AD).
The Minister was replying to a question of Yasir Reshi related to the
depriving ownership rights to the people from the aforementioned areas.
The Minister informed that the Chakdari System was abolished in 1950 in
the State consequent upon enactment of the Big Landed Estates Abolition Act Svt
2007 (1950 AD).
Legislator Javed Ahmed Mirchal raised supplementary to the main
question.
