One day OBCs Sammelan organized

Jammu, Apr 09: Concentrating on the development of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and review their issues in an organized manner, Vice-Chairperson OBCs Board, Rashpaul Verma organized a OBCs’ sammelan at BJP state headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.

BJP State President & MLA Jammu West Sat Sharma along with state general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, state general secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh, Pawan Khajuria and BJP state President OBC Morcha Murari Lal graced the occasion.

The sammelan primarily concentrated on the demands put forth by the community and a voice to raise the genuine issues at all appropriate levels.

Sat Sharma while addressing the gathering assured that al the genuine issues raised by the community members will be taken up by the party at all levels. He said that the OBCs form a major chunk of the Nation’s population, so it is wise at all the levels that their demands be given appropriate consideration. He stressed that the in the modern civilized society, nobody should feel depressed or oppressed and this is particularly endorsed by the BJP’s ideology of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas”.

Dr. Narinder Singh in his address assured the community members that their all demands will be taken up BJP at the government and the administrative level. He also said that OBC population forms part of all the communities and as such, their issues often come as multi faceted, which will be given due consideration.

Rashpaul Verma in his address apprised the top leadership of the basic plights faced by the community. He advocated the grant of 10% reservation instead of present 2% to meet the aspirations and the need of community. He also said that the case of provision of 2 certificates at the centre and state level to the community be withdrawn and instead a single certificate be issued. Also, he said that the renewal system of certificates be modified as a person’s caste in not changed in five years and the present system only adds up to woes, the community is facing.

Verma requested that all the districts be provided with hostel facilities for OBCs students. He also advocated for the political reservation according to the section 50, clause 6 of J&K Constitution. He also called for a fresh census of OBC population. Income bar should also be raised on the pattern of central government for the community, he added.
