Bengaluru, Apr 18: BJP National President Amit Shah on Wednesday demanded an apology from the Congress party after a NIA court in Hyderabad had acquitted all the five persons involved in the Mecca Masjid blast case that had claimed nine lives.
Speaking at BJP Shakti Kendra (booth level committee) Presidents convention here, he said Congress Party and its President Rahul Gandhi had charged that ‘Hindu extremists’ were behind the blasts in the masjid but all the five accused including Swami Aseemananda were acquitted by the court.
‘’Congress should tender an 'unconditiona'l apology to the people for its 'irresponsible' allegations.
Mr Gandhi and other Congress leaders P Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde had alleged it was the work of Hindu extrimists. But Court has now said they were innocent,’’ he stated.
Mr Shah slammed the then Congress government in united Andhra Pradesh for not ensuring arrest of the real culprits but victimised pro-Hindu activists and now it has been proved that they are innocents.
Congress stand exposed for making unfounded and false allegations. ‘’Congress had sown the seeds of Hindu extremism which was nothing but a blatant lie. People of Karnataka will teach the party a bitter lesson in the coming Assembly election, he added. UNI
