DC Samba launches gram sabhas

Move aims at grassroots level planning

SAMBA, APRIL 26 : District Development Commissioner, Sheetal Nanda today launched   gram sabhas across the district which would be held over a span of one week from 26^th April to 1^st May for promoting grassroots level planning.

Gram Sabhas are being held  to take up proposals for framing Panchayat plan for NREGA, IAY, SBM for current year and prospective plan under 14^th FC for next 5 years.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that Gram sabhas shall also take up issues pertaining to Aadhaar seeding and job card verification and hold discussions on other issues faced by community members in these sabhas. She further said that demands put forth by the people in the gram sabhas shall form the basis of projects to be taken up under various schemes by the District Administration.
