Aghar Jitto mela from June 8

REASI, MAY 24: District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar today convened a meeting to review arrangements for three day Aghar Jitto mela slated to be held from June 8, 2017.

The meeting was attended by ASP, Sanjay Singh Rana, ACR Abdul Satar, CMO L.D. Bhagat, Executive Engineers, Tehsildars, organizers and other prominent citizens. 

It was informed in the meeting that the Mela would be organized at the main shrine along with different activities to attract devotees and pilgrims from various parts of the state and the country.

The Baba Jitto Mandir Development Committee apprised the DDC on all major issues and requirements including additional stairs, lights, dustbins and construction of footbridge over Aghar Jitto Nalla for smooth conduct of the event.

The DDC instructed the concerned departments to ensure supplies of ration and other essential commodities while Executive Engineers of PHE and PDD were directed to ensure uninterrupted water and power supplies.

Instructions were also passed for deployment of security personnel, safai karamchari and making other logistic arrangements for the mela.

Other decisions on cultural programme and establishment of stalls were also taken in the meeting. 

The DDC directed banning of polythene bags and other plastic materials in and around the shrine.
