CHENANI, MAY 15: With an aim to raise awareness among the people about the ill effects of polythene on personal health as well as on environment, a massive awareness rally was taken out as part of Swachhta week, here today.
The rally, organized by Department of Rural Development and Panchayati
Raj, was flagged off by District Development Commissioner, Niraj Kumar.
A large number of students from different educational institutions
participated in the rally and generated awareness about the health hazards caused
by the use of polythene.
ACD, Om Prakash, SDM Chenani, DPO, BDO besides other block level
officers also joined the rally.
Passing through the main market, the rally finally culminated at Market
Chowk.
During the rally, the DDC interacted with the local shopkeepers
and street vendors and appealed them for not using polythene.
