DODA, MAY 20: The Chenab Valley Power Projects
Limited (CVPP) Kishtwar today held an interactive training session on Good
Environmental Practices for the Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Power Project
employees. The training session was organized in association with the district
office of the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) Doda.
While interacting with the participants, District Officer, SPCB Doda,
Kuldeep Bhan, spoke about various guidelines and rules of pollution control and
waste management. He provided detailed suggestions about various activities
that the project management could undertake to control pollution and manage
waste at various locations of the 1000 MW power project.
Highlighting the need for awareness about good environmental practices,
the District Officer also underlined the threats to environmental degradation
on account of pollution and unregulated waste disposal by the society. He said
that environmental protection is everyone’s duty including that of employees.
Chief Engineer (Civil), B L Aswal, also addressed the session and called
upon the employees to strictly follow guidelines and rules on pollution and
waste management so that the project sets an example of compliance and
environment friendliness.
