Exhorts youth to be employment providers 
RAMBAN, MAY 26: Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in coordination with J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Jammu & Kashmir Bank (JKB) and State Bank of India (SBI) organized first entrepreneurship summit at Banihal, here today.
DDC Ramban Mohammad Aijaz was the chief guest on the occasion.
SDM Banihal Vikas Verma, officers of other departments and youth in large number were also present on the occasion.
DDC exhorted upon the youth  to become an employer instead of employee.  He said that this summit is a first of its kind which shall help to bring together   various stakeholders to share their views and experiences. He said that such initiatives will supplement  governments steps  to foster entrepreneurship and generating employment avenues .
DDC said that it is also an opportunity to highlight the work that the JKEDI, Banks and other departments initiate to support budding entrepreneurs.
While highlighting the role of JKEDI, the DDC said that various schemes of J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) are providing opportunities to the unemployed youth of the state enabling them to build their future and give wings to their dreams.
Local Entrepreneurs also shared their success stories.  

The officials from JKEDI threw light on various schemes being implemented by the Institute especially Himayat self employment Scheme. They said the department, apart from providing the required resources, is motivating the unemployed youth to imbibe  an entrepreneurial spirit and set up their own businesses.
