GANDERBAL, MAY
25: District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, Tariq Hussain Ganai, today
convened a meeting to discuss arrangements for smooth conduct of Mela Khirbawani
and annual Amarnath Yatra form Baltal route.
The meeting reviewed availability of essential commodities like rice, atta,
sugar and LPG, besides upgradation, repairs/renovation of Yatra route, power
and drinking water supply, telecommunication, sanitation, setting up of medical
camps equipped with ambulances, availability of doctors and paramedics and
installation of sign boards along Yatra routes.
During the meeting, the DDC was apprised that registration of pony walas and
other labourers has already been taken up at Kangan town of the dsitrict.
The
meeting also took stock of arrangements for Mela Khirbawani which is scheduled
to be conducted during the first week of next month. Officers apprised the
meeting that foolproof security and other related arrangements are being put in
place for smooth, peaceful and hassle free conduct of the Mela.
Among others, SSP Ganderbal, SDM Kangan, CEO Sonamarg Development Authority,
Executive engineers of various wings, District Officers and Tehsildars attended
the meeting.
