day-long Kashmir literary conference organized by Maraz Adbi Sangam in
collaboration with District Information Centre and Right to Information
Foundation was held at Government Degree College for Women, Anantnag today.
The conference titled ‘Ake Duhitch Adbi Conference’ saw many scholars, writers
and poets explaining the importance of preserving and propagation of the
Kashmiri language and its development in Kashur culture and civilization.
They highlighted the challenges being faced by Kashmiri language for its
existence and endeavours for its preservation and development at different
levels. On the occasion a Mehfil-i-Mushaira was also held in which prominent
poets and writers enthralled the audience with their literary works.
Later three books entitled Fikr–u–Fun, Siyah Rath Maet Khwaab, Husn–e-Murat and
Vaeth–e–Aagur of Rasheed Sarshar, Hameeda Shah Akhter, Ghulam Nabi Malik and
Maraaz Adbi Sangam respectively were released.
Life Time Achievement Awards were given to Shazia Bashir, Manzoor Khalid,
Zahid Mukhtar, Dr. Nazir Aazad, Prof. Bashar Basheer and posthumously to Ghulam
Nabi Firaaq.
