RAMBAN,
MAY 16: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz
inaugurated one day Workshop on Community Mobilization Program (CMP) under SSA
and RMSA, here today.
The
programme was organized by district administration in collaboration with
Education Department Ramban and SSA to disseminate awareness among various
stakeholders regarding components of SSA and RMSA for achieving 100% literacy
in the district .
CEO,
Mohammad Sarif, CPO, Uttam Singh, XEN PWD, Tehsildars, Dy CEO, Principals,
Headmasters, Masters, Engineering and Technical staff of SSA, RMSA, heads of
various schools along with Village Education Committee (VEC) members and locals
participated in this programme.
DDC
said that community mobilization and close involvement of community members in
implementation of secondary education is extremely critical as it fosters ‘bottom up approach’ not only in effective planning but also in
effective monitoring, evaluation and
implementation of the government programmes besides ensuring quality education
in government schools.
Active
participation of the community also ensures transparency, accountability and
helps in leveraging the cumulative knowledge of the community for better
functioning of schools he added.
DDC
also highlighted the integrated scheme of RMSA with special importance to
decentralized planning and implementation with active involvement of community
members, teachers, parents, local bodies including Panchayati Raj Institutions,
Municipal Bodies and other stakeholders in the management of secondary
education through establishment of Multi Member School Management and
Development Committees.
Meantime,
DDC also reviewed the progress of both academic and development works in
various institutions. He also constituted the teams comprising of concerned
Tehsildars, ZEO and members of VEC for resolving the issues of availability of
land for construction of different school buildings and directed them to submit
the report within prescribed time.
