DDC reviews sanitation measures of Srinagar city

   SRINAGAR, MAY 05: District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, today chaired a meeting to take stock of sanitation  and street lighting in the city.

Superintending Engineer PDD Circle II Srinagar, Executive Engineers of PDD & SMC, besides Chief Sanitation Officer SMC and other concerned attended the meeting.

 The DDC directed the concerned to ensure repair and restoration of all the street lights immediately and put in place an effective mechanism to monitor their functioning..

 Concerned Executive Engineers were directed to fix road/Lane wise responsibility to the officials so that accountability is ensured and immediate action is taken in case of any delinquency. 

     Regarding cleanliness and sanitation  in the city , the meeting was briefed about the steps being taken by the SMC to upgrade the cleanliness and sanitation measures in the City.

     The DDC directed the officers of the SMC to ensure early lifting of the garbage and quality sanitation in all areas of the Srinagar City. He also asked the officer to take measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month of Ramazan particularly during Sehri and Iftaar times. He also asked the officials to ensure  better sanitation meaures around  mosques and other  religious places during the month of Ramazan.

 The officers were also asked to ensure  cleanliness and uninterrupt power supply on  Ganesh Chaturdashi being celebrated at Ganpatyar Ganesh Temple on May 8 and 9, 2017.
