During the meeting,
the DC emphasized to keep track of previous year initiatives launched to arrest
the adverse CSR more vigorously so that new action plan can be put in sync with
the previous year`s activities to get desired results.
Besides other
initiatives, DC laid stress on providing opportunities to women for enhancing
their skills under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and BADP to
develop entrepreneurship among womenfolk besides making them self reliant. He
also emphasized on providing legal aid to women regarding their rights in
consultation with District Legal Committee and Police. He also advised District
Officers to adopt villages having critical CSR so that concerted efforts should
be put in place to improve the CSR in a focused manner.
To bring forth the
talent of females in various fields, DC avowed to facilitate them on behalf of
District Administration to reach higher goals and underlined the need of
disseminating their success stories for inspiring others to achieve further in
their life.
He further asked the
officers to sensitize people at Panchayat level and create awareness by
arranging mega camps so that they can be made aware of the ill effects of
selective gender elimination besides animating the field staff through capacity
building.
Brochures in local
languages highlighting various women welfare schemes, awareness of PC- PNDT
Act., consultation with lady doctor in far flung areas through Video
Conferencing were few other proposals which were discussed threadbare.
DC directed District
Panchayat Officer to take note of left out women headed families who were
devoid of Individual Household Latrine(IHHL) should be given preference to
construct IHHL and deliberated upon celebrating ‘Laadli Diwas’ on 9th of every
month.
DC also added that as
done earlier under PAHAL initiative, dedicated ring tone, Girl’s sports athletic
meet at block and district level, sponsorship for poor girls for higher
education/sports by corporate houses(PAROTSHAN), mega awareness camps at Tehsil
and District level, award for best female performance in every field, girl of
the month, signature campaign, baby shows, monitoring prohibition under PC-PNDT
Act, toll-free women health helpline in the district hospital which helped in
tweaking the CSR will remain continue in same spirit.
ADC, ACD, RTO, GM
DIC, CEO Kathua MC, CMO and other District Officers were present in the
meeting.
