SRINAGAR, MAY 24: Minister for Health &
Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today paid surprise visit to Bone & Joints
Hospital at Barzulla and took stock of the healthcare facilities available
there.
The Minister went around various wards, units of the hospital and
received detailed account of the activities vis-à-vis rush
of patients, availability of infrastructure, manpower, medicines, diagnostic
equipments and sanitation in the hospital. He interacted with the patients,
attendants and enquired about the facilities being provided to them.
Meanwhile, the Minister also discussed the functioning of the
institution and issues related to further streamlining and upgradation of
services in view of the increased rush of patients from across the State. He
issued direction to the Medical Superintendent, Dr A R Baddoo to submit a DPR
for renovation, upgradation and complete face-lifting of hospital in view of
the present flow of patients.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Bone & Joint is
the only hospital of the State which is catering to the needs of the patients
from the entire State and Government was committed to ensure best possible
facilities here. He said that possibilities will be explored for its expansion
subject to the availability of land nearby the hospital to cope up with the
rush of patients. The Government will also examine the other aspects related to
the further improvement of services, upgradation of diagnostic gadgets etc
according to the present needs, said the Minister.
