SRINAGAR, MAY 26: J&K Governor
N.N. Vohra has expressed grief on the passing away of Sh. K.P.S Gill, former
Director General of Police, Punjab.
In a message to the
family the Governor paid rich tribute to Sh. Gill’s altogether fearless leadership and recalled the grave unrest
in Punjab, during the period the Governor served as the State Home Secretary,
when Sh. Gill’s services were procured on deputation
from Assam to combat the arising challenges in Punjab. Sh. Gill served Punjab
for several years leading from the front and made valuable contributions in
bringing insurgency under control.
The Governor has
prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and wished his family the
strength to bear this sad loss.
