JAMMU, MAY 20: Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly,
Kavinder Gupta, in presence of Member Parliament Jugal Kishore and MLC Vikram
Randhawa, today inaugurated the newly constructed lanes and drains at Ward 56
of Gandhi Nagar in Jammu.
The Speaker said that other ongoing developmental projects in the area
will ensure better amenities to the people once completed and appealed for
active public partaking in strengthening the initiatives of the government.
While addressing the people on the occasion, the Speaker said that Rs.
22 crore and Rs. 4 crore have been sanctioned for upgradation of Rajiv Gandhi
Hospital and a newly constructed park at the Ward respectively.
He said that concerned executing agencies have been directed to work in
tandem and ensure that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframes
with strict adherence to quality norms.
Highlighting the role of people in achieving goals under the Swatch
Bharat Mission, the Speaker said that keeping the environment clean and green
is a collective responsibility and appealed the public to put in dedicated efforts to
preserve environment and ecology of the State.
On the occasion, MP Jugal Kishore sanctioned Rs. 5 lakh from the CDF for
construction of a cultural stage at Ram Leela Ground.
