KUPWARA, MAY 25:
In order to finalize works programme for development of Kunan Poshpora as a
model village under Border Area Development Programme (BADP), a meeting was
convened here to fine tune the arrangements.
The joint meeting convened by Member Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Fayaz Ahmad Mir,
MLA Bashir Ahmad Dar and District Development Commissioner G. M. Dar discussed
the matters with concerned agencies regarding development of Kunan-Poshpora on
modern lines.
It was given out that proposal of 11 such model villages stands approved in the
district under BADP and an amount of Rs 32.51 crore will be spent on the
project. It was said that Rs.10 crore are being allocated at secretariat level
in due course of time for the purpose.
The meeting was told that a committee is being constituted to monitor the whole
process. Further, a joint survey team of officers of different departments will
visit the area along with the architects and will formulate a comprehensive
works plan under each sector.
The concerned officers were exhorted upon to develop the village on modern lines with all possible facilities within the project, as per the guidelines laid down by the Union Government.
