Labour Department observes Labour Day in Kupwara

KUPWARA MAY 02: Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC), Kupwara, Monday organized a programme in connection with the World Labour Day celebrations at Town Hall. The programme was organized in collaboration wit local labour unions. District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, G M Dar, was the Chief Guest, whereas the Assistant Commissioner, Kupwara, presided over the programme.

During the programme, while experts and departmental field functionaries delivered lectures to mark the day, labour unions presented their charter of demands before the district administration for early redressal.

Speaking on the occasion, the ALC Kupwara highlighted various schemes being implemented for the benefit of construction workers of the district. He also impressed upon the construction workers to get registered with the Labour Department for availing benefits of under various state and centrally sponsored schemes.
