‘Better road connectivity key to socio-economic development’
SRINAGAR, MAY 25- Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Cooperative and Fisheries, Mir
Zahoor Ahmad has said that road network gives way to prosper rural life and
ensures proper development of rural areas.
The Minister was speaking to the people after inspecting the
macadamization work of 3 kms road length of Jawbrara new Colony, Jawbrara
Faisal Colony and Nursing College Awantipora link road in Pampore Constituency
today.
The Minister was apprised that an amount of Rs 3 crore has been
earmarked for macadamization works on these roads.
During his tour, the Minister also inspected 800 meters length ongoing
drain constructed near Awantipora Ziarat Sharief for which Rs 80 lakh has been
sanctioned under Chief Minister’s Commitment.
On the occasion, he was informed that the construction work on other
developmental works carried by the Roads and Buildings Department in Pampore
Constituency are in full swing.
Mir Zahoor directed the concerned to start construction work on stair at
Kathru Mohalla Awantipora immediately. He also asked them to develop link road
of Mantaki Colony and take macadamization work on the said link on priority.
The Minister also visited sites of ongoing development works in various
areas in the Constituency and passed instructions to the officers for time
bound completion of these works.
Enroute, Mir Zahoor met with local people at various locations and took
feedback from them on the availability of essential service like water and
power.
