Poppy destroyed in Anantnag, Budgam

          SRINAGAR, MAY 13: Continuing its drive to eradicate poppy cultivation, an Excise team headed by Excise and Taxation officer, South Kashmir Range today destroyed Poppy crop standing on 13 kanals of land in Veeri, Krandigam and Nowbugh (Kinderpora) villages of Tehsil Bijbehara of District Anantnag.

          Another Excise team headed by Excise and Taxation officer, Central Kashmir destroyed Poppy grown on 25 kanals in Parnawa and Waghar villages of Tehsil Khan Sahab of District Budgam. The Excise teams were accompanied by Revenue officials of concerned Halqas.

So far 65 kanals of Poppy have been destroyed in Kashmir Valley by the Excise Department.
