Priya Sethi for promotion of Kashmiri products at national, international forums

Chairs Publicity Committee meeting of Tourism Deptt

          SRINAGAR, MAY 26: The Minister of State for Tourism and Education, Priya Sethi, Friday called for promotion of Kashmiri products and tourism potential at the national and international level to attract more tourists to the State.

          The Minister was addressing officers at a Publicity Committee meeting of Department of Tourism which she chaired today here at SKICC to finalize the publicity and promotional programmes for the year 2017-18.

          The said meeting is held annually for approval of the publicity proposals and promotional activities to be organized for promoting Jammu and Kashmir Tourism products and potential at national and international level.

          Ms. Sethi emphasized the officers of the Department to increase the visibility by being present in all the relevant Marts and Roadshows across the country and at international tourism forums as well. She also stressed on organizing different tourism festivals at the local level to attract tourists from the domestic market.

          Secretary Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah briefed the Minister about the successful campaign and other promotional activities carried out by the Department in last year to promote Kashmir as the prime tourist destination.

          Interim tourism publicity plan for Kashmir, Jammu and Ladakh regions of the State was also presented on the occasion.

Director Tourism Kashmir Mehmood Ahmad Shah, Director Tourism Jammu Smita Sethi, Managing Director Cable Car Corporation, Additional Secretary Tourism, FA CAO Tourism, Deputy Director Tourism Publicity Wing, Deputy Director Tourism Central and other senior officers of the Department were also present on the occasion.
