Says efficient, well performing officers will be rewarded
RAJOURI, MAY 15: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs
Ch. Zulfkar Ali has said that government will never compromise on qualitative
and quantitative magnitude of development works while exhorting concerned to
work hard in this regard.
Addressing public grievances redressal camps in Kotranka and Budhal
areas of Darhal Assembly segment, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said that this area,
which was ignored by previous administrations, has for the first time, received
over Rs 800 crore for development projects during 2015- 2016. He asked the
officers to ensure that these funds are utilized in a judicious manner and all
the works are done in time. He said that the upcoming projects like Onaus Water
Supply Scheme and Kotrenka Buddhal road would change the development scenario
of the region.
The Minister exhorted upon the officers to conduct regular field visits
for a strict monitoring of development works so that the purpose of launching
these reformative programmes for socio-economic empowerment of such areas is
achieved. He said that officers who will perform well will be rewarded while
the low performers will have to face the music.
The Minister asked the officers to conduct frequent public grievances
redressal camps so that the issues of people are redressed at their doorsteps. “Communication
gap between citizens and the administration is biggest hurdle in the process of
development and must be mitigated,” he asserted.
During public grievances redressal camps, the people raised their
problems and demands as well which inter alia include better road connectivity,
drinking water shortage in various villages, protection works in sinking and
sliding areas, immediate disbursement of pending wages under MGNREGA, awareness
camps by horticulture, agriculture and other allied departments, improvement of
interior road network, payment of land compensation to owners of land acquired
for various road projects.
The Minister asked the concerned officers to look into these issues and
initiate action for early redressal of the same.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal
Choudhary, SSP Youghal Manhas, Director FCS & CA, Mohd Azam Inqalabi, SEs,
Executive Engineers of PWD, PHE, PMGSY besides other district officers.
