Union Government's Public Outreach Programme, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao


Rajouri, Jan 22 :  As part of Union Government's Public Outreach Programme, Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications, Electronics and Information Technology Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao today conducted a public outreach camp at Nowshera, Rajouri.

Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal, Additional SP Nowshera, Executive Engineer PWD Nowhera, Chief Education Officer, Tehsildar Nowshera, Block Development Officer and other officers of district administration were present on the occasion. BDC Chairperson Lamberi, Vikas Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Nowshera Bodh Raj, BDC Chairperson, Seri Neena Sharma, BDC Chairperson, Qila Darhal, Khaliq Ahmed and Chairman MC Nowshera, Narinder Sharma were also present during the programme.

The outreach programme witnessed overwhelming participation of BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanches, Panches and general public hailing from different areas, particularly the border areas of the subdivision.

The Minister also dedicated Community facilitation Centre (CFC) to the Public of Chalk Jarallian, a building to BDC Chairperson Nowshera so that he can establish his office and laid foundation stone of 100 mtrs Motorable Bridge over Nowshera Tawi at Lamberi.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nowshera presented a detailed account of various developmental activities and welfare schemes being carried out by different departments in the area.

BDC chairpersons and Chairman MC Nowshera while speaking on the occasion highlighted major issues and demands of their areas including sanctioning of a Kendriya Vidayala and Navodaya Vidyalaya for Nowshera, commissioning of Grid Station Stone, provision of Mobile Connectivity for the Shadow areas belonging to border belts, Opening Telephone exchanges, Completion of Ring Road Nowshera, enhancement in the salary of Sarpanchs and Panchs, SC/ST Hostel at Nowshera, accountability of funds released under TSP/BADP, border Bunkers, Super speciality hospital on Jammu Poonch Highway near Lamberi, Degree College Lamberi, Skill Development Centre for Nowshera, harnessing of local Tourism potential, Satellite campus for GDC Nowshera, provision critical care ambulance for border, special recruitment and a number of other demands.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Government is committed to ensure all round development for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the current visit is part of the initiative to take efficient governance to the doorsteps of people. He said that the objective of holding public outreach programme is to disseminate the information about various government schemes and to take review of implementation of these schemes on the ground.

The Minister said that central government has launched several schemes for the welfare of the general public and appealed the masses to avail the benefits.

While giving details of the achievements under different schemes, the Minister informed the gathering that more than 2.5 lakh units under SBM have been established in the UT and near about 62% of targeted population of the UT has been covered under different pension schemes. He further said that in order to improve health services, 02 AIIMS shall be established soon in the UT with an estimated cost of Rs 900 crore. He added that 18500 houses have been completed under PMAY in the last two years. He highlighted that in order to ensure transparency, Anti-Corruption Bureau has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir.

Regarding employment generation he said more than 4000 educated youths have been provided with employment opportunities in the union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under Himayat. He said that Jammu and Kashmir has immense potential in Hydroelectric sector.

He said that various initiatives for the development of J&K have been taken and Government is committed for equitable development of all without any discrimination. He asked the Citizens to participate in policy formulation and program implementation to usher in an era of direct participatory democracy. He also highlighted that after the abrogation of Article 370, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a number of positive changes like implementation of 73rd and 74th amendment Act and rise in the ease of doing business index. He said Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is at 10th position in terms of ease of doing business which is a good sign. He said that in order to bring transparency and accountability the Anti corruption Act is implemented in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister also said that the vision of the present Government is to complete all the Schemes in minimum time. He said there is no dearth of funds to cover the developmental deficit of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the recent package and the Sanctioning of Bridge under CRF at a cost of Rs 16 crore is stands testimony to it.

On the occasion, the Minister handed over sanctioned letters to the beneficiaries including letters of state marriage assistance and letters of pension cases including old age, widow and physically challenged. He also distributed water testing kits among the beneficiaries and school kits among the girl students under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.

Moreover, the Minister also paid a visit to the Government Boys Higher Secondary School Nowshera and inspected the classroom, ICT laboratory and School library. He also interacted with staff members and asked the Director School Education Jammy to keep provision of Library even after the School hours. The Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta informed that the Department of School Education is planning to open Reading rooms in schools.

The Minister also interacted with number of public deputations at PWD Dak Bunglow Nowshera. During the interaction with the public Deputations the Minister assured that their issue will be resolved at the earliest.

Rajouri, August 3  :    Advisors to the Governor, K Vijay Kumar, K K Sharma and K Skandan today jointly chaired a meeting to review the overall development scenario and also took the comprehensive review of the related activities being carried out in the district.

Financial Commissioner H&ME Ata Dulloo, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Aijaz Asad SSP Rajori, ADC Rajouri, ADC Nowshera, ADC Sunderbani, ADC Kalakote, ADC Koteranka, HoDs and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad made a Power point presentation in which he gave a detailed account of various developmental activities being carried out in the district and the achievements registered in various sectors including Health, PDD, PHE, PWD, Education, Agriculture, Horticulture and others.

It was informed that against the revised outlay of Rs 24452.52 lakhs for the year 2018-19, an expenditure of Rs 23900.59 has been observed till date and the proposed allocation for the financial year 2019-20 is Rs 19893.55 lakhs.

Progress of bunker construction in the district was also reviewed in detail. It was informed that there are a total of 1892 bunkers to be constructed in the district which includes 1745 individuals, 147 community types.

The Advisors discussed status of languishing projects which are under execution by various departments in the district. It was told that there are 244 languishing projects undertaken by various departments including PWD, Education, PHE, I&FC, RDD, and others. It was also revealed that out of 244 projects, 57 stand completed till date and rest are under progress.

The meeting also reviewed the status of power scenario in the district. SE PDD informed that 132KV Barn-Siot Kalakote double recharging circuit is in progress and the work on which will be completed shortly. Regarding the augmentation of Grid station at Siot and Bathian, he said that work on the station shall be completed soon.

Directions were given to PDD authorities to complete all the projects within the set time limits so that the general public can be benefitted. Meanwhile progress on implementation of Saubhagya Scheme in the district was also reviewed by the Advisors.

With regard to PHE sector, SE PHE informed that there are 61 languishing projects which are being executed by the department for which tendering process has been done and the work on the said projects are in different phases of execution.

Functioning of Animal husbandry, Sheep husbandry, Industries and Revenue department was also reviewed during the meeting. A detailed report on digitization of land records, removal of encroachment on land was sought from the concerned officers representing the department.

Issues related to water stressed areas, shortage of ambulances in border areas, Rajouri to Thanamandi road repair work, sports facilities in panchayats, shortage of staff in education and health sector were also discussed in detail.

After the meeting, several deputations also met the Advisors who appraised them about their problems and demands. All the issues raised by local people were listened patiently by the Advisors who assured them of their redressal in time bound manner.

The officers were directed to remain active in the field and bring more value to the public services so that the idea of good governance can be achieved. The Advisors exhorted upon the officers to work with sincerity while delivering the public services to the people.

Rajouri, July 08  :   District Administration Rajouri has decided to extend old age pension benefits to maximum number of eligible persons.

For the purpose, it is going to organize special camps to list the deserving persons for providing them benefits of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) and Integrated Social Security Scheme.

Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad chaired a meeting of the officers/Officials of social welfare department and ICDS to devise a mechanism for the re-scrutinization, Aadhaar linked payment mode for disbursement of pension to the beneficiaries under these Centrally / State sponsored schemes and inclusion of all the left out beneficiaries.

The Social Welfare Department is providing monthly pension to the beneficiaries in the State under two schemes i.e. National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) which is a blend of centre and state shares and Integrated social security schemes.

District Social Welfare Officer informed that 34000 persons are availing the benefits of pension under different schemes in the district. He also informed that there are 18000 pending cases in the district which need to be verified.

The DDC said re-scrutinizing of the database is very important so that no eligible beneficiary viz old aged, widow or differently-abled person is left out and denied the benefit of the pension.

He said Special camps will be organised at Tehsil level for three days to re-scrutinise and collect the forms from the left out eligible persons. Meanwhile, the DDC also reviewed state Marriage assistance scheme, functioning of Bal ashrams and pre and post matric scholarship disbursement.

The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Shama-un Ahmed, District Social Welfare officer Mohammad Naseeb, CDPO Manjakote, Rajouri, Darhal, Kalakote and all the Tehsil social welfare officer.

Rajouri, July 04  :   District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today asked the concerned departments to start preparations for smooth conduct of annual Budha Amarnath Yatra-2019.

Chairing a joint meeting of officers and representatives of religious organisations, the DDC discussed in detail the requirements and issues to be addressed for smooth conduct of the Yatra.

The meeting, among others, was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sher Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nowshera, Sukh Dev Singh Samayal, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sunderbani, Vinod Kumar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Liaquat Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohammad Ashraf, Chief Agriculture Officer Janak Raj, Tehsildar Rajouri, Sheraz Chouhan, ARTO Rajouri, Inzar Rana, XENs PHE, PWD.

A threadbare discussion was held on the issues raised by the representatives of religious organisations like provision of drinking water, Medicare, power and cleanliness at the Yatra base camps in Sunderbani and Rajouri.

Stress was laid on the foolproof security, installation of CCTV cameras and provision of medical camps at the base camps (Yatra grounds).

The DDC issued directions for making available adequate supply of drinking water. The Municipal Committee was asked to take up measures to ensure cleanliness and make provisions for temporary toilet facilities at the base camps. It was decided that PWD Department will construct temporary sheds for langer and storage of ration at the designated places.

As thousands of Yatris are expected to visit Budha Amarnath Shrine from across the State, the DDC directed AD Handicraft, AD Handloom Rajouri to put up stalls to promote the local craft. The DDC also asked the Agriculture department to put up a stall of local agriculture products.

Rajouri, July 02  :   District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today launched work on Rs. 4.78 crore project envisaging double lanning of 120 meter Abdullah bridge connecting Gujjar Mandi with old bus stand of Rajouri town.

District Development Commissioner set deadline of March 2020 for completion of the prestigious project being executed under languishing projects.

The DDC said that on completion the bridge will help towards easing traffic congestion in the town especially Gujjar Mandi area.

Jammu, Mar 5 :   Pakistani troops Tuesday violated ceasefire along the Line of Control by targeting forward posts and villages in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said. 

The latest ceasefire violation took place in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district around 1130 hours, prompting strong and effective retaliation by the Indian Army, he said.

The spokesman said Pakistani army initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling with mortars and firing of small arms. 

However, there was no immediate report of any casualty on the Indian side, he said, adding the cross-border shelling was continuing when last reports were received. 

There has been a spurt in ceasefire violation by Pakistan after India's air strike at Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camp in Balakot on February 26 in a preemptive action following the February 14 suicide bombing in Pulwama in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed. 

Four persons, including three members of a family, were killed and several others injured in over 60 ceasefire violations along the LoC, especially in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch last week.           [Agencies]

RAJOURI, JANUARY 01: An inter-district science exhibition under 'Inspire Award' scheme was organised at District Institute of Education and Training, here today.
Five teams of students from Rajouri and six from Poonch district took part in the exhibition and presented their science models.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Principal District Institute of Education and Training, Pardeep K Sharma in presence of senior heads of departments of the institute.
A team of judges including Sabzar Ahmed Wani from Science and Technology Department and HoDs of DIET, Ghanysham Sharma and Ashwani Sharma adjudged the models.
In the competition, two models were selected for further exhibition at the state level.
The Principal DIET   interacted with the participating students and said that department of education holds such exhibitions at regular basis with an aim to provide a platform to the budding students to display their scientific temper.

Jammu, Oct 3: A man who had been evading capture for eight years was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, police said Wednesday.

Mohd Shakeel was arrested Tuesday night from Lam area of Nowshera eight years after a criminal case was registered against him at Nowshera Police Station, they said.

A warrant was issued by a Nowshera Court for his arrest, they said. (PTI)

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 20: Under the ongoing Swachhta Hi Sewacampaign, a student’s awareness rally was organized by Sub Divisional Administration Thanamandi Rajouri here today.
Organized under the overall supervision of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad and District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir, the rally was flagged off by Sub Divisional Magistrate Thanamandi in which more than 200 participants carried the banners and placards inscribed with informative slogans for creating awareness among the general masses about sanitation measures.
SDPO Thanamandi, Tehsildar Thanamndi, Block Development Officer Thanamandi and teaching and non-teaching faculty of colleges and schools also accompanied the rally.
Meanwhile, the zonal level painting competitions, to educate the common masses about the importance of cleanliness and to provide platform to the young talent, were also held in different schools of district under the Swachhata campaign.
A large number of students drawn from various zones participated in the painting competition and painted their thoughts on the paper.
Similarly, in order to clean the iconic and historic places, a cleanliness drive was under taken in the vicinity of Tatapani, kalakote, where apart from the volunteers, members of Self-Help Groups of UMEED participated . Several other cleanliness drives on the same line were also taken out in other areas of the district.
Pertinently, a district level painting competition and Mega Swachhata Mela to promote the talent and to spread the message of cleanliness is going to be organized on September26 at Government Boys Higher Secondary School Rajouri.

RAJOURI SEPTEMBER 17: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today withheld the salary of two officers for not attending the ULB Election meeting.
The officers include Assistant commissioner Development (ACD) Akhter Hussain Qazi and DFO Social forestry.  The officers are appointed as nodal officers for Man power, training Management and maintaining liaison with election observers respectively.
The DC has sought explanation from the erring officers before initiating disciplinary action.

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 17: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting of officers to review preparedness for the Urban Local Bodies Elections.
The meeting was attended by Addl. Deputy Commissioner Sher Singh, ADC Sunderbani Gurmukh Singh, and CEO RDA Dr. Tahir Firdous, DFO Rajouri, DFO Social Forestry Rajouri, District informatics officer Rajouri.
 The DDC directed the concerned departments to keep men and machinery in ready mode and update the officials about their duties, role and responsibility for facilitating free, fair, transparent and smooth Municipal elections as and when the notification is issued.
The DDC instructed the ROs and AROs to personally visit the already identified Polling Stations and furnish the information regarding accessibility, security and other facilities like seating arrangements, Power etc., besides establishment of Headquarters for Returning and Assistant Returning Officers.
The DDC asked the Addl. Deputy Commissioner to monitor the inspections of Polling Stations and ensure all necessary arrangements at the venue well in time for smooth conduct of Urban Local Bodies Elections. He further directed officers of the Line departments to work in coordination with Election Cell and by launch mass awareness among the public, for maximum democratic participation. He also directed for constituting Flying squads to check violation of Model Code of conduct.
The DDC also interacted with the Nodal Officers, appointed for different assignments.

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 15: District Development Commissioner Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad today convened a meeting of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) District Level Task Force (DLTF) here today at conference hall of DDC office, Rajouri.
The DDC asked the Social Welfare, Health & Education departments and other concerned departments to put in a collaborated effort to ensure that the objectives of the scheme are realized to the fullest.
He stressed on organizing more camps and workshops for masses and functionaries of several departments to sensitize them on the issue of Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and value of girl child & her education.
He further called for strengthening the linkages with Panchayats, Anganwadi Centres and PHCs at the district as well as on block level.
Meritorious girls shall be felicitated to encourage them and girl child achievers shall be nominated as BBBP ambassadors, he maintained, adding that, Heath, Education, and Rural Development department have to play an imperative role in making this programme a grand success.
The DDC directed the health officials to strictly implement PC&PNDT Act in the district in letter and spirit and those who inform about this should be rewarded. Sex determination of the foetus is a major social evil and all those involved in such activities should be punished, he added.
He also sought a detailed report from CMO about the under 05 years of age mortality rate and institutional delivery for the year 2018-19.
Some of the completed works in panchayat should be got inaugurated by parents of the newly born girl child, the DDC instructed RDD.
The meeting was attended by SSP Rajouri, Chief Planning Officer , Chief Medical Officer , District Programme Officer, Chief Education Officer  ,District Panchayat Officer, District Social welfare officer and BMOs.

Mega Swachhta Mela, Sabhas to be organized soon
RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 13: In order to review the preparedness for the nationwide sanitation campaign, 'Swachhta Hi Seva', a meeting of district and sectoral officers was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today here at Dakbanglow Rajouri.
The meeting was informed that a fortnight sanitation campaign under 'Swachhta Hi Seva' shall be launched on September 15thacross the district which will culminate on 2nd October, on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. The sanitation derive would be launched simultaneously at District, Subdivision and Block levels.
It was further informed that the aim of the campaign is to reinforce the concept of sanitation at mass level where Panchayats and Municipal Bodies, Government employees, Anganwari workers, public representatives, school children, social workers, organizations and citizens will be actively participating.
The DDC urged upon the officers to formulate action plan highlighting daily calendar to make the campaign a success. The District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir, who is the nodal officer for the sanitation drive, was asked to coordinate with different department for effective implementation.
The DDC asked the concerned officers to plan activities in such a manner that will generate interest in the sanitation drive. He also asked them to arrange quiz and painting competitions, symposiums and debates in schools at the district and Tehsil level on 'Swachhta Hi Seva’ theme.
The DDC further instructed that the progress of all the cleanliness drives initiated by various departments should be communicated to his office on daily basis and shall be given a wide publicity.
The meeting also decided to organise a Mega Swachhta Mela and Swachhta Sabhas in the district to aware the people about the sanitation.
It was further informed that the drives would be held to clean water bodies, khuls, parks, roads, schools, hospitals and special focus shall be laid on the cleaning of tourist and historic places.
The RDD officials were directed to sensitize the village health and sanitation committees about the drive for maximum participation.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Sunderbani, Nowshera Kalakote, District Programme Officer Rajouri, CMO Rajouri, CEO Rajouri, Chief Executive Officer Rajouri, SDMs, Principals, Block Development Officers, Child Development Project Officers and ZEOs of different zones.

Jammu, Sep 11 : Nineteen health institutes were found locked and 44 officials found absent from their duties during a surprise checking in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, officials said Monday.

A spokesperson of the district administration said special teams constituted by District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad conducted inspection of various health institutions.

He said separate teams inspected 120 institutions including offices of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) besides the Rajouri District Hospital, he said.

The teams found 19 health institutes locked and the administration ordered the chief medical officer to submit a report and initiate strict disciplinary action against the staff as well as the monitoring authorities, the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, the inspection teams found out of 994 health staff in the local institutions, 758 were found present and 44 absent, he said.

The administration has decided to seek explanation from the CMO and BMOs whether they have followed the leave rules in sanctioning leave of such a large number of officials and employees.

The deputy commissioner said the surprise checking was to ensure punctuality and discipline to ensure best health care facilities to public.

He said action shall also be initiated against the authorities who have sanctioned leave in an irrational and casual manner.PTI

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 10: An awareness camp was organised here at Narineketan to aware the inmates about their legal rights against certain crimes.   
At the camp, organised by Management of Universal One Stop Centre for Women, the inmate girl students, women were told about various crimes committed against womenfolk at domestic level, workplaces or at any other location and the preventive and protective measures and legal entitlements available for them in such cases.
In charge Narineketan Nidhi Sharma, OSC Coordinator Neetu Sharma, OSC Staff and inmates participated in the awareness camp.
The girl students were made aware about sort of violence the females face in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. Girls were informed about stringent laws for protection against domestic violence, harassment at workplaces, trafficking, Eve teasing, stalking etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Neetu Sharma said the women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse will be facilitated with support and redressal at OSC. She said the aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting can reach to OSC for redress.
She also informed that emergency response and rescue response, Medicare, legal aid and counselling, psycho-social counselling, assistance to women in lodging FIR and shelter are a few among other services being provided to distressed women at OSC.
During this awareness programme, OSC coordinator also talked about the swachh Bharat Mission and   the participants were asked to put in extra efforts for keeping their surroundings clean and make Swachh Bharat Mission, a success.

RAJOURI, SEPTEMBER 06: District Administration Rajouri has retrieved 202 kanals of encroached land including 140 kanals forest land and 62 kanals state land at village Chak Mathyani in Tehsil Teryath of Rajouri district.
A team comprising Magistrates, police personnel and officers of Forest and Revenue Department carried out the anti-encroachment drive.
It was informed that the District Administration would continue such drives to retrieve the encroached state land.

RAJOURI, AUGUST 28: District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad reviewed and finalized the arrangements for Shri Krishan Janamashthami festival, here the other day, at a joint meeting of officers and representatives of Sanatam Dharam Sabha and other religious organizations.
The meeting had a detailed deliberation on the arrangements for celebration of the festival.
The DDC directed the PDD and PHE authorities to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, while the Police Department was asked to deploy adequate number of police personnel en-route Shoba Yatra. DySP Traffic was directed to ensure proper traffic management besides removal of vehicles parked along the road for smooth conduct of the procession.
The DDC further instructed the EO Municipal Committee, Rajouri, to ensure cleanliness at all vital points of the Rajouri city.
Health department informed the meeting that one ambulance will be made available en-route Shoba Yatra and one ambulance shall be stationed at Old Bus Stand.
The Fire Services authorities were directed to remain vigilant to meet any eventuality.
TSO Rajouri and Assistant Controller Food Safety and Standard, were directed to conduct the market checking on September 01, 2018 in Rajouri town to ensure proper quality and pricing of fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities.
The meeting was informed that the Shobha Yatra will be taken out on September 03, 2018 from Sanatam Dharam Sabha ground and after passing through the main bazaars of Rajouri city, Div. Morh, would culminate at Old Bus stand, Rajouri.
All the officers were directed to ensure adequate arrangements relating to their respective departments ahead of the festival.  
The meeting was attended by ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, CPO, Abdul Hamid, Additional SP, Mohammad Yousaf, ExEn PHE, Nisar Khan and Medical Superintendent Dr Mehmood Bajar, AEE PDD, Jamshad Sheikh, Assistant Director, Fire and Emergencies Services, Tehsildar Rajouri, TSO (FCS&CA) besides other officers.

Jammu, Aug 28 :  Three persons have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and harassing a boy on the suspicion of his involvement in a case of theft in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said today.
A video of the alleged torture and illegal confinement on social media was brought to the notice of SSP, Rajouri, Yougal Manhas.

"Police have booked and arrested three persons from a village of Thanamandi on charges of kidnapping, harassing a minor boy and keeping him in illegal confinement merely on the baseless suspicion of his involvement in a theft case," he said.

"Yesterday, we received a video in which some men can be seen tying a minor boy with a rope and hanging him with roof besides harassing him," he said.

Soon after receiving the video, the district police led by Manhas started investigation to find the origin of video and place of incident and it was suspected that video originated from Thanamandi sub-division after which teams headed by SDPO Thanamandi Iftikar A Chowdhary and SHO Thanamandi Nazir Ahmed Dar were put to task for identifying the accused and place of incident.

A police team from Thanamandi sub-division managed to zero-in and found that the video has been filmed in Churung village of Thanamandi, he said.

Meanwhile, a resident of Churung, Zahid H Shah, complained to Thanamandi Police Station that his 11-year old son has been kidnapped by three men and kept in wrongful confinement, officer said.

During verification of this complaint, it was found that the minor victim in the video was Shah's son.

Thereafter, two separate teams headed by SDPO Thanamandi and SHO Thanamandi raided separate location in Churung village and nearby locations and arrested all the three accused, he added.

They include Parvaiz Ahmed, Mohd Aslam and Imran Ahmed, all residents of Churung Thanamandi, he added.PTI

RAJOURI, AUGUST 27: Acting promptly on complaints regarding absenteeism of the field staff, a special squads comprising of Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of 13 Tehsils of District Rajouri, constituted by DDC Rajouri, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, carried out surprise inspections on Water Pumping Stations of District Rajouri on the intervening night of August 26 and 27.
A total of number of 63 Water Pumping stations were inspected out of which 22 were found locked in areas like Jhanger, Dabbar Potha, Kalsian, Badhakanna, Dahni and Nadian.
During inspections, 22 officials of PHE Department belonging to Mechanical wing were found absent from their duties.
Administration has sought list of officials posted at Pumping stations, which were found closed, from Superintending Engineer Hydraulic and concerned ExEns Mechanical wing, to initiate action against all the erring officials.
It was informed that that these surprise inspections shall be carried out regularly, to ensure best services and facilities being provided to general public.

RAJOURI, AUGUST 13: District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad on Monday visited  Yatra ground to take stock of arrangements being put in place for the Budha Amarnathji Yatra  starting from August 17, 2018.
Accompanied by ExEn PWD Mushtaq Raina, ExEn PHE Nisar Khan, officials of PDD & Municipal Committee Rajouri and other concerned officers besides volunteers of Budha Amarnath Seva Samiti, the DDC inspected work on construction of kitchen sheds, toilets, erection of electric poles, installation of mast lights and overall cleanliness at the Yatra ground.
He directed the officials for timely completion of necessary arrangements specially cleanliness of the base camp, proper lighting facilities right from entrance of the ground to main roads. He also directed for removal of weeds and thrashing of grass on the ground.
Meanwhile, the ADC Sunderbani reviewed Yatra arrangements at ALG Sunderbani. On spot directions were issued for expeditious completion of all arrangements and maintaining close coordination with Volunteers of Budha Amarnath Seva Samiti.
