DC Udhampur finalizes Eid arrangements

      UDHAMPUR, JUNE 20: Deputy Commissioner, Niraj Kumar, today convened a meeting of district officers and prominent citizens of the district to finalize arrangements for Eid-ul-Fitr.

During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in and around all Eidgahs and Masjids in the district.

Chief Sheep Husbandry officer and Chief Animal Husbandry Officer were directed to ensure sufficient availability of meat at affordable rates during the festival.

AD FCS&CA, Food Safety Officer and  Legal Metrology Department were directed to keep a check on the rates of essential commodities and were also asked to ensure that good quality of eatables were provided to the people.

Regarding security arrangements on the occasion, the DC asked the Police department to ensure the same by deputing police personnel at designated places in the town.

The Chief Medical officer was directed to provide adequate medicare facility and deploy an ambulance at both the Eid Gah and Jamia Masjid Udhampur during the festival.

In order to ensure free flow of traffic during the occasion, the Traffic department was directed to   deploy adequate number of traffic personnel at traffic jam prone places.
